Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for wider and more consistent use of technology in government functioning, saying it is essential to reduce the workload of field-level employees and improve efficiency in public service delivery. He directed officials to identify performance gaps and provide appropriate training while ensuring continuous monitoring to achieve measurable administrative outcomes.

The chief minister made the remarks while chairing a review meeting of the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) at his camp office. The meeting focused on the role of digital systems in addressing governance challenges and improving coordination across departments.

Technology as a Tool to Improve Administrative Efficiency

During the review, Naidu said many long-standing governance challenges could be addressed through the structured use of technology. He stressed that digital systems should support officials in their daily work rather than operate as parallel or underused platforms.

The chief minister asked departments to encourage officials and employees at all levels to adopt digital tools in routine functioning. He said consistent use of technology is necessary to ensure the timely implementation of government programmes and improve responsiveness to public needs.

Naidu also directed officials to focus on capacity building, particularly where performance gaps exist. He said training must be aligned with the increasing use of digital systems so that employees are equipped to handle technology-enabled processes effectively.

    2026 Declared Technology-Driven Decision-Making Year

As part of the government’s push to support data-based administration, Naidu declared 2026 as the Technology-Driven Decision Making Year. He said the role of Artificial Intelligence should be expanded across government services to improve grievance redressal and support evidence-based policymaking.

The chief minister instructed officials to deploy AI-enabled tools to speed up the handling of public complaints and improve the use of data in administrative reviews. He said technology must help officials make quicker and better-informed decisions, particularly in service delivery departments that deal directly with citizens.

Naidu emphasised that technology adoption should lead to visible improvements in governance outcomes. He said monitoring mechanisms must be strengthened to ensure that digital systems translate into better execution rather than remaining limited to dashboards and reports.

Mana Mitra Platform and Growing Use of Digital Services

Officials briefed the chief minister on the progress of Mana Mitra WhatsApp Governance, one of the state’s key digital service delivery platforms. According to data presented during the meeting, 878 government services are currently being delivered to citizens through Mana Mitra.

So far, around 1.43 crore people have accessed services through the platform, officials said. The figures indicate increasing public reliance on digital channels for accessing government services, particularly for routine applications and information.

Naidu said such platforms should be supported further and integrated more closely with departmental systems to ensure faster processing and consistent service quality. He stressed the need for departments to regularly review usage data and identify areas where digital services can be improved.

Review of Key Departments and Focus on Outcomes

The chief minister also reviewed the performance of key departments, including Health, Agriculture, Revenue, Roads, Transport RTA, and Fire Services. He asked officials to assess how technology is currently being used in these departments and identify areas where further improvement is required.

Naidu directed departments to use available digital systems to track progress, monitor timelines, and improve coordination. He said departments must focus on outcomes and ensure that technology adoption results in better service delivery on the ground.

Reiterating his focus on citizen-centric governance, the chief minister said technology should help both government employees and the public by reducing delays and improving access to services. He said efficient use of digital tools can improve transparency, accountability, and overall administrative performance.
