The Coca-Cola Company has appointed Charlotte Wolf Tarfa as Vice President, People and Culture – India and Southwest Asia. She will lead the human resources function across India and neighbouring Southwest Asian markets within the company’s operating unit structure.

Tarfa announced the move on LinkedIn, writing: “I’m proud to share that I have taken on the role of Vice President, People & Culture for India & Southwest Asia at The Coca-Cola Company, partnering with teams across the system in this dynamic region!”

India ranks among Coca-Cola’s largest markets by volume, supported by a network of company-owned operations and franchise bottlers, manufacturing facilities and nationwide distribution.

Its portfolio in the country includes Coca-Cola, Sprite, Thums Up, Fanta, Maaza and Kinley. Globally, Coca-Cola operates in more than 200 countries and territories and serves approximately 2.2 billion beverage servings each day, according to company disclosures.

Global Talent Leader with Enterprise-Wide Experience

Tarfa has been associated with Coca-Cola since 2021. During her tenure with the company, she has held senior global talent leadership responsibilities.

Before this assignment, she served as Vice President – Global Talent Strategy and Succession. In that role, she worked with the CEO and executive leadership team on global succession planning and leadership pipeline initiatives across more than 200 markets.

She also held the role of Global Senior Director – Talent and Development, overseeing enterprise-wide leadership development programs and capability-building initiatives. Her work included succession frameworks, executive assessment processes, and global talent reviews across the Coca-Cola system.

Earlier in her career, Tarfa held senior human resources roles at IHG Hotels & Resorts. Her responsibilities there included corporate learning programs, HR business partnering, and organisational development initiatives across international functions.

Her experience spans executive succession planning, leadership capability development, and global workforce strategy within multinational organisations.

Mandate Across India and Southwest Asia

In her new role, Tarfa will lead the People and Culture function across India and Southwest Asia, overseeing workforce strategy, leadership pipelines and employee engagement for corporate, manufacturing and commercial teams, while coordinating with independent bottling partners and ensuring compliance with regional labour regulations.

During her first week in the role, Tarfa spent time in India engaging directly with associates and bottling partners in a subsequent LinkedIn post, she wrote that she began her assignment by being present in the market during MARK, Coca-Cola’s global Market Activation Recruitment Week.

“I spent time on the ground with our associates and bottling partners during MARK, our global Market Activation Recruitment Week, where the Coca-Cola system comes together around growth and execution,” she stated.

She added that the experience allowed her to see how strategy connects with people, capability, and partnership across the system. Referring to India, she described it as “an energizing market — rich in diversity, scale, and ambition.”
